Jantje Drost was married to Lieuwe Hiemstra. The
family Hiemstra lived in Balkbrug, at the Ommerschans. They had a mixed
farm with mainly cattle. At this farmyard all the seven children Hiemstra were
born.
From May 26 1994 she was a widow. In august 2010 she removed to a carecentre at Zwolle, where she died a day before her 92th birthday.

We have four children, Leon, Maartje, Bart and Simon. They all have an
adventurous inclination, and from time to time they are on other continents.
Leon already for some period has a job in Vietnam. Maartje works as a chemist in
Hoorn. Bart has been working in Australia, Canada, and Denemark. Now he's a
farmer again and an honest constructionworker. Simon soon will start a trainee period
in Germany. I am a dairy farmer and in my spare time I'm still learning.
Femmie also works outside the door for a part of the week, so you see we have a
busy life. But that will be the same with all of. Being idle is not our nature.
A long story about us, enough. In the past I used to visit your family sometimes,
but that is veeeeery long ago. It was very nice. After that I didn't follow it
anymore. Other things are sucking the attention. Alas, I don't know too much
about all the cousins.
The
site has been made by our son Simon, and it's time for a update. With our farm
we are also to be seen on the site of www.deommerschans.nl.

Although Emke is not a Drost, he tries to uphoald the honor of
the family. He is a profressional teacher. Ineke also is a teacher, and she may
be proudly called a member of the family. Alas we have no organ, but there is a
piano!
Together with Lieuwe we live in St.Laurens, a village that is practically a part
of Middelburg now. It's a joy to be living on the Walcheren Island, with it
richness of nature and culture. nevertheless, we have the intention to remove.
We joined the Christian Reformed Church at Kerkwerve, and we would like to live
there. We hope to receive back a lot. Schouwen also is beautiful, so close to
Zierikzee. Emke keeps working with the Regenboogschool at Middelburg, and Ineke
works at Krabbendijke.
Lieuwe is a merry guy. We enjoy him. Hij is named after three "pakes"
(grandfathers) Hiemstra. He is the youngest grandchild of Grandma
Hiemstra-Drost.

lived in the Van Heutszstraat 53 at Den Haag. On november29 2020 he died at the
age of 61. He is buried on the cemetry Oud-Avereest (Balkbrug)
